ARE YOU PING OR ARE YOU PONG (2020)
This was written, composed and recorded during corona lockdown in Vienna, and also around the world with my friends who were stuck in their flats in NYC, Tel Aviv, Cologne, Brixen, and other locations. These are excerpts of our email conversations.
It originally evolved out of an experiment to evaluate the quality of different clip on microphones for my telephone.
This video is a sound and picture, representing a small, closed area of the world, and at the same time a view into infinity.
It premiered in May, 2020 during lockdown in Austria at an Interpenetration Special hosted by Setzkasten. Thanks Maru and Stefan for your kind invitation.
Dieses Video habe ich während des Corona lockdowns in Wien entworfen, komponiert und gedreht und mit Freunde und Kollegen aus NYC, Tel Aviv, Köln und Brixen die in ihren Wohnungen festgesessen sind. Die Texte sind Auszüge aus ihren emails.
Ursprünglich war die Aufnahme ein Test um die Qualitäten verschiedener Ansteck Mikrophone für mein Telefon zu testen.
Diese Sounds und Bilder repräsentieren einen kleinen Abschnitt aus meiner Lockdown Welt und gleichzeitig sind sie ein Ausblick ins Universum.
