Shoot Me (2011)

Shootme_500

„shoot me“ is my second full KMET solo album. I recorded it in my little Studio in the 3rd district of Vienna. Almost all intruments that I own where used. A beautiful old metall snare drum by Ludwig, my Fender Rhodes, all sorts of little drums, a B-clarinet, my violin bow, a bass guitar borrowed from a friend and ofcourse different guitares to name a few. I had a few wonderful guest musicians such as Martin Zrost who made a clarinet arrangement at the end of „syncopated love“. Also Andrej Prozorov who counted to fifty in russian on „first half“ and played additional saxophones in dialog with his voice. Last but not least Verena Brückners beautiful voice on acc.trash.

It was done in heavy 180 gr. Vinyl with a flip cover, and as CD / download.

Michael Neuhauser, a very focused and brilliant editor of Austrias Ö1 radio broadcast created a „Diagonals feiner Musiksalon“ feature about „shoot me“. You can listen to it here.

…with a mixture of guitar sounds, samples and voice, KMET is an electronic singer-songwriter at its best.

Florian Kmet does get around with his guitar. With the chord-and-electronic-duo Lokai he and Stefan Németh (Radian) explore sounds, as a part of Trio Exklusiv he is used to strike up big-time. In his solo project he is more of a singing wanderer in between Blues, Folk and Rock. Because he can: with an immaculate sense of style Kmet simply knows how to move in between doomed ballads, tiny little Zappaisms and slumdog howlers. Listening to 'Shoot me' is like listening to a living Jukebox. Make sure not to miss the man performing his songs live, all by himself!
